Im looking to upgrade my motor it is a stock 400 now , so anything is going to be better. But im looking for some insight. any suggestions. I started racing mx a year ago, and am looking for something that isn't going to leave me stranded.

a pipe is the 1st mod most people go with....also a new air filter may help

filter, pipe, and jetted will give ya a little more power, a 416 kit, or 426, 440....or whatever you decided to go with will give you even more;)

I have a no leen hvo pipe and it is jetted(main), i guess i should have said that, i looking for what is better but also reliable, 416, 426, 440, i was thinking 440 but thats a chunk of change and i have heard sometimes un reliable, so i figured 416, 0r 426, im looking for combinations of what works well.

When I said stock I ment internally

I have legar +2 arms
elka w/ remote rez on front
(working on the rebuild for the back) open for suggestions
razor 20-7-10 on baja rims for front
and 18-9.5-8 trekers on beadlocks for the rear
dura blue +2, +4 axel
Regina chain
twin air or uni filter
stainless brake lines on the front
cut front finders

I would go wit the 426,cam, pipe, and air filter. That will really wake it up. 426 is still religable and will probably rev faster then a 440. But thats just my 2cents.

high comp piston, cam... maybe some porting... lightened flywheel <---- nice mod and pretty cheap.
