when the quad is warm( runnig for a while) when u kill it... then go to start it.. when you push the hot start button it lets more air into the carb( correct me if i am wrong) which makes it easier to kick

ya that sounds right cuz when i started it and let it run i pushed the hot start to see what it would do and it sounds like it gives it more air or fuel cuz your rpms go up.:p

It gives more air to lean out the mixture to aid in "hot starting". Basically prevents the quad from becoming flooded by too much fuel. Remember trying to start you old 250x or 230 Quadsport on a hot day after stalling or wrecking it.:D

the hot start does just the opposite of the choke it leans the motor out. allowing for more air to enter so the motor does not flood. choking richens it. it allows gas to get in to get the motor started good when it is cold.
