i have a 1999 400ex and was wondering if i could put a cr 250 motor in it? has anyone out there done this?

I think that it lacks a counter balance but i'm not positive on that. If it doesn't have one then its going to rattle your teeth out

Yes, you can put any motor in anything it just takes modifications. Would anyone recommend doing this, NO.

the cr250 doesn't have a counterbal;ancer and the vibration will bug the heck outta ya and it'll eventually snap your frame. trust me i know because my LT was uncounterbalanced and it broke my frame.

know what go out and buy a 250r motor. it the samething with a counterbalance.

isnt the CR motor a more "high tech" motor than the 250r

yep the cr250 is way higher tech. especially if your talkin about a newer cr engine.

I would put a cr500 motor in in with a turbo charger and nos it will go like 150mph in 3seconds.:blah

well, considering the r motor is 13 years old, the new cr is better, but, pros arnt using cr motors, ther still on 250r's, and will be for a long time
