why is there a switch on the front brake lever? what happens if you take it off, will it affect the machine?

It's for the brake light, if you remove it the light will no longer work. It won't effect anything else.

what about the muffler bearings? are they needed?

The muffler bearings can also be removed as they serve no usefull purpose.;)

The sad thing is there were probly a few people that were thinking about going down to the garage after reading this and removing those heavy old muffler bearings! :rolleyes:

So untrue, if you remove your muffler bearings then you will slow down the velocity of the blinker fluid as they are directly related. That in itself will cause you to have to re-jet the whole quad. Too much of a PIA for me and I have yet to see it make any difference. Now aluminum foil on your ignition coil, that is where the HP is at...........

So, I don't get it! Are you supposed to or not supposed to remove the stock muffler bearings?:D

Id have to say, if you own a 250r, the most important thing to do after these significant changes, is to adjust the valves and make sure you are running the right powerbands, i suggest pink, thats what im running in my banshee. :D
