i have a 87 honda 250x sometime i can kick it 2 or 3 time it
fires right up . but sometimesi can kick it half the day and nothing. i can pull start it and it start right up. thing of it is
its a brand new motor so if anyone can help me that would be great

try putting a new plug in.

i've put 2 or 3 new plugs in it and it the same

could my coil be getting weak??????????????????????

Sometimes it depends on your starting procedure, you just need to learn how your bike likes to start.

My 250X likes a few quick pumps on the throttle, and then a pump right as I kick it to give it a little squirt of gas from the accelerator pump. No choke, even if it is 0 degrees outside.

My 250r is the exact opposite. Full choke, and no throttle at all, and it starts within 5 kicks or so. If I DO give it any throttle when I kick, I'll have to kick it 50 times. It took me a little while to learn that.

So, it could be that your motor just likes a certain starting method, and it's up to you to learn it.

when i crank mine i always give it a little gas when i kick it but i never use the choke. but they maybe the same type of motor but 2 of em will never start exactly the same:o
