That's a loaded question. They are both reliable if taken care of correctly. I wouldn't say one is better than the other, it just comes down to what your trying to do with it. The 250r is better suited for MX due to the frame and steering geometry, where the banshee is a great drag racer becuase of the twin cylinders.

But by no means would I say one is more reliable than the other.

Reliability starts with the owner. With proper maintance any bike can be reliable

thats all true but you must also remember that with the banshee if something were to go wrong you have to do everything twice

I have both. 1998 Banshee and a 1988 R.

My R has been down more than my Banshee, but I also ride my R harder because it can be riden harder! But boy does that Banshee rip in the flats! All and all I like two stokes!:D

really depends what year banshee and R you get. if you buy a newer well maintained banshee, then obviously that will be more reliable, just because everything is newer on it.
if you buy a beaten 250R then that would deff. not be reliable. its all about how the owner took care of it, so just try and find one thats in good shape.
