We needed a bigger vehicle for the family and a back up tow vehicle. We bought this 2004 Trailblazer EXT with the 5.3L V8 and third row! I LIKE IT! But wife drives it 99.9% of the time! :D

Still less than 2000 miles yet. Its a lot quicker than my extended cab with a 5.7 and a throttle body, but only has 85 on the speedo.... it gets there pretty quick though! Plenty of power! Imagine how good a full size pickup or Yukon runs with a 5.3L and then put it in a lighter vehicle.

Whats the MSRP on that? We need to start shopping for a SUV for the Mrs. Her Integra is just too damn small for four of us:o LOL she wants an MDX, but at $38k, its a bit out of reach.

The MSRP was $33K. Its an LS, 2WD with most buttons. No OnStar, cd changer, sunroof, leather, or driver info center. It does have rear air though. V8 is a $1500 option.... but since its an EXT and I'll use it for towing, I think it was worth it.

If we weren't going to tow with it, perhaps we would have looked more into the crossover SUV's in order to keep the front wheel drive.

Thanks for the compliments! :)

Very nice man, like it alot. I'd still stick with nissan but gm is coming up. A few years ago (and before then) their tranny's sucked major. But I think they are working the bugs out finally. I like Xterra's or the Titan or Frontier, any of them. Right now i'm driving a sentra around and I have a 94 ford ranger with about 400k + of miles on it.

Evil, we looked at the Nissan Armada. It was a lot of truck that had a lot of standard options. My dislikes of the Armada was poor gas mileage... 13/16 as compared to 16/19 of the 5.3 Trailblazer. It also seemed too big too. 18" wheels! Although mine are 17's. The interiors were kind of weird too. They had this canvas like material that was already stained from demo's. If you can afford the leather, want to spend at least $3K more and are less concerned about gas, I would take a look at the Armada... They're built about 175 miles from my house. :)

Thanks for the compliments! :D

That's kind of odd...13/16, I looked at a Titan when they were first coming out in the spring and it was better than that, and they both have the 5.6. I twas like 16-21 or something around there (difference is probally from the size of the aramada and the added weight). Yea, they are big, but I like em, and the staining on the interior is probally from having so many demo drives, and that sales people drive them to lunch and probally slobber and spill food all in it and stuff (found that out when we bought our 89 pathfinder back in 94). But if you were to buy one, they are worth the money. Run forever. But that's besides the point, nice car and I hope you enjoy it.

My parents just bought a new Bravada about a year ago... great vehicles (on the same frame as the Envoys, Trailblazers...etc).

The 5.3 was a good choice on your end...great motor!
