I was changing the front sprocket today on my 400EX. I got the guard around it off. Now what? I pull on the sprocket but it doesn't come out. Thanks.:D

You have to take the 2 bolts out that are holding a little peice of metal around the sprocket, you will have to rotate the peice of metal to get it off, then pull the sprocket. Try cleaning the sprocket and you will see what I am talking about. Sorry I am having trouble explaining it.

You must loosen the chain, remove the two bolts in the sprocket, and it will pull off.By the way, the guard is called a case saver.

Yeah the little metal piece with 2 screws is "keyed" take it off then it should slide off.

*At fist I thought of the kid who thinks he going blind!*

the sprocket will seem pretty hard to get off after you get the locking plate off, the part with the screws, but if you just wiggle the sprocket back and forth quickly it will eventually come off, also it helps to loosen your chain a little, it takes a little bit more of the load off of the sprocket, allowing you some more play back and forth.
