It's not going to hurt anything to remove the spark arrestor, but it isn't going to make much difference if any. My friend took his out of his stock pipe on his quad and I think it just makes it sound even worse. Save up some cash and get an aftermarket!

It can cause you to run lean, so I would remove the air box lid, buy an Outerwears and K&N and individual jets about 5-8 sizes bigger. You will be fine then and have a noticeably crisper throttle responce. Otherwise, I would buy a jet 2 sizes bigger than stock.

If you pull the lid and use a K&N with outerwares....Im guessing you will need go up a sh@tload. Its stock at 118 and Im running a 195...granted I have a full pipe. I dont know what elevation you are at but I would guess around 165-175ish.

Go ahead and remove it, you will notice some difference over stock but not much. I gutted my pipe changed the jetting to 172 installed a white bros filter and removed the lid. The diff is like night and day!! Thanks to SPARKY 450AR for the jetting specs.
