Blown shocks?

My quad seems to ride awfully rough, and when I stand it on end and cycle the suspension by hand one of my front shocks make a whoooshing noise. The other one dosen't but it seems to take the same amount of push on each one to get it to move. Am I to assume at least one if not both of my shocks are shot and I am just driving around on spring?

Have you seen any oil on the shock shaft?

No oil, actually I made up my mind at least one of them is shot. It has vertical scratches on it from friction. I bought this quad used, and I have never rode before, so it is looking like I may have bought junk.

o well stock 300ex front shocks are junk anyway..buy the conversion for 400ex fronts and then buy some 400ex front stock shocks off this site...they will make quite a bit of difference

Do you need to replace the A arms to convert to the 400ex shocks?

Not the 400ex arms. Use the stock 300ex arms or aftermarket arms made for the 300ex

where can I buy the conversion mounts. I could fabricate one myself but I don't know enough about suspension geometry.

haha im gonna go sheck my shocks.....i weigh 230 and i was hitting a 50 foot tabletop today with stock shocks.......:eek: :eek2: :p
