has anyone installed a clutch on a 400ex with cr500 springs? if so were they shorter than the stock springs? and after you install a new clutch does it have to wear in properly beofre it will work it best?

CR500 springs are shorter, and won't work with the stock pressure plate. There have been a number of posts that eluded to using CR500 springs with a stock clutch - but none have ever said what pressure plate was used. A new set-up will take a few engagements to work correctly, but not many.

i tried them and mike is right they are shorter and i smoled a set of barnetts really quick i think that if you can get the right pressure plate that the shorter springs would pull it together tighter resulting in better performance?just my 2 cents...
