what is the new needle for? Is it thicker for the fat jet that im putting in? Why should we break down the bike to change needle if its running fine? What are the pros and cons of this?

I had to rejet when i got the CS pipe. I went to a 190 main(f185),50 pilot/slow(f48),5th clip on the HRC needle(f 3rd), and 2 1/2 turns on the air/fuel screw. That got rid of the throttle off deceleration popping that i got when i installed the pipe. You say yours runs good so i guess if it aint broke dont fix it. Hope this helps.:D

The needle is easy to change. Just take the 4 bolts out of the plastic on the tank. Just loosen up the ones at the bottom under the front fenders. Then pull the plastic don't an inch or so and take the 2 bolts holding the tank down. Then take the 2 straps that hold the rear of the tank down. Swing the tank out of the way. You don't have to take the fuel line off. Unbolt the top off of the carb take out the screws holding the cover for the needle. Then just pull it out.

The new needle is tapered differently and will give proper fuel management in the mid range, which is need in the increase flow of the new exhaust.
