ok i was looking into some 310 and 330 kits and i see the powervalve cylinder is a lot more than the normal cylinder.... why is this? what is the reason of the powervalve? it is more reliable to run a power valve? is there a big diff in performance between the 330 kit and the 330 powervalve kit? thanks guys

I dont know much about a powervalve i know they put out much more power than a standard bore i would reccomend a 265pv to be legal for the 265 class, when u go to big bores reliability tends to decrease greatly. But the pv's are much more expensive but they are the ultimate 2stroke racing motor.

They dont put out any more HP but they do allow the powerband to be wider allowing it to put out the power longer. That is my understanding of it.

a p/v changes the exhaust port timing depending on rpm. this lets the motor have more power at low end and pull harder through a gear instead of having the hard midrange hit of a standard 2 stroke, a p/v pulls more like a fourstroke from bottom end to top. It doesn't make that much more HP it just makes it smoother. The p/v is definitly the way to go IF ya can afford it.

I currently have an esr 330 pv. It really does increase bottom and mid range vs. my non pv 330 it's just alot smoother power delivery while maintaning top end. Depending on your porting and pipe you can lose alot of the on off switch 2 stroke feeling.
