is removing the choke from the carb worth it. can u feel an increase in power. 400ex

Do a search on this, there has been a lot of questions like these about this subject. I don't think you would notice much of a power difference from it and some people think it's worth it, some don't.

I took mine out, little more throttle response and that is about it.

Same here... Ive run 3 different carbs on my motor. I had a lectron 38mm, and now use a 39mm FCR. Before both of these I used a stock carb with the choke removed like you are talking about. Basically, I felt it DID make a bit of a difference but not a whole lot. Its definitely worth doing, and the bike should start just as easily if not easier at least mine did...

Made mine easier to start also. But remember to install a 42 pilot also;)

Removing the choke will give you a little more throttle responce, like a jet kit and filter. In cold weather applications, you might need to pump the throttle a few extra times and kick in the accelerator pump. Then, you should be fine.
