I would go with the 300ex. I havent rode a new warrior but I'm pretty sure they are the same as the old ones with the exception of different plastic. They are very close in speed, but the 300 handles much better, jumps better, and is lighter. I would say overall the 300ex is a better quad.

300ex:macho My 300ex with the current mods beats my buddies warrior in a 300 ft drag by about 4-5 quad lengths. On the track i just totaly demoilse him, and I got to slow down for him a lot in the woods. When we switch we get the same resluts. He's been ridin for 4 1/2 years and i've been riding for 2 1/2. He got tires, a hmf slip-on, and jetted perfect. I've rode it before, it feels like riding a tank, way to heavy and I will never jump it again. I weigh 120 and i can bearly control it in the air. My advice get a 300ex! The thing that really holds back a warrior it the 2 vavle head design, suspension, and there weight. The thing that really holds back a 300ex is it only being 282 cc's, and there stock exhaust system is really restricting.

Warriors are junk! I like yamaha, but i've always hated almost everything about warriors. Unless you want to sink about 5 grand into these bikes, they wont be worth a ****.

yeah, warriors are too heavy and handle horribly.

300s are lighter, stop better, ride smoother and handle better. there also more comfortable and wheelie better.

also, if you plan on racing, i know 350cc is the limit at the gncc's in the sport class so your maxed out already and i'll put my 350cc 300ex against any stock bore/stroke warrior so there actually at a disadvantage even being the faster motor stock for stock

I've owned both...

I raced my 300ex in MX and warrior in XC...

IMO, the warrior was a good quad for a weekend rider, but not race worthy! The 300 was the better quad

300ex is better in every way. its got a way better motor (4 valve vs 2 valve) so it doesnt even lose the advantage with 50 less cc's. its lighter, better handling, just as reliable a lot more mods availible, can be built to make more power than a warrrior can.

Well, I have had both. I have a 02 300ex that is stock, and I sold my 96 warrior not long ago. The 300 is much easier at wheelies, but stock for stock I prefer the warrior. My warrior jumped better, was much faster stock (again, I am only comparing stock, which most people on here can't remember what stock was like! :D ) and was WAY easier to get into reverse. Either way, if you want a machine to have some fun on, but not go all out racing, either works. But why not get a 400ex anyway???????

my dads been ridin all his life and he rides a warrior now and ive only been ridin for about 5 years and ride a 250ex now. from 3rd gear we are even in a drag and sometimes i pull away from him in the trails. now if i had a 300ex id be killin him IMO.

I feel evil for posting this on here, but there is no way that with two even skilled riders, the 250ex will out drag a warrior. I couldn't beat mine on my 300ex.

the warrior is one of the worst bikes out there mine never worked right but is is a bit faster than the 300ex in top speed

uhh neither...a blaster would just about beat both of them

but if i have to choose between the 300ex and warrior....id say the new warrior...Raptor 350 theyre lightened and just better IMO

i will agree with this, stock for stock considering your buying brand new, the blaster is the best, motor is extremely reponsve to mods, VERY light weight, good brakes, cheap parts (have you looked at th price for 300ex parts? REDICULOUS) there also easy to work on and there are as many mods for blasters as for 300ex's.
if it matters to you, i rode/ride a HIGHLY modified 300ex, ans will give it up at the end of this season b/c i see more potential in the blaster once all the mods are done
