How Much Power Does a K&N Filter Give Out??? for a 400ex

i say nothing you would notice. i have used K&N, uni, twin air, and stock air filters. i wasn't able to tell a performance gain with any of them. my jetting changed very very little if any at all with these filters. however, i do my testing drag racing. my 406 runs just as quick with the stock filter as it does with the K&N. on the other hand, removing the air box lid actually does make a difference in jetting. you won't notice much even if you remove it though and rejet.

I have to say that K&N's do give better throttle response. I tried out the UNI filter about two weeks ago and took it off after the first ride. The K&N was overall alot better flowing filter. Just make sure you put a prefilter over the K&N if you ride in dusty conditions.

The K&N gives slightly more throttle response on a stock machine. With the jetting changes I made, taking off the Air Box lid, and removing my baffle, there was noticeable power, but nothing to brag about. Maybe 1 bike length in a drag race at the most.

I run a different bike but I still have to say the jetting helps out tremendously powerwise. Havent been able to find a K&N Filter yet, they stay out of stock, but if were to buy any filter it would def. be a K&N. I also run w/o a lid.

Could you tell me why you would definately run a K&N?

They are the best me and my buds have came across, and we have tried %99.9 of all air filters.
