Is that hill open anytime you wanna ride it, or just for the competition. Could I just load up with a few buddies some time and go try to conquer that thing, or not...

That hill is nothing on a snowboard, on a tube you would just be crazy. Now on a anowboard those little flat areas would make great places to launch off of and catch some big air.

So how did he go about the flat areas? Did he roll em and then nail it again, or just jump em like the big one on H3?

The night that I did it was test and tune night. I rolled the flat spots, I think if you tried to jump them you would die! :(
I have some helmet cam clips....maybe I can host them on my site.

07-06-2004, 07:37 AM
700 Foot from bottom to top. ATVsport mag did a report on rolling thunder 2 episodes ago and showed a couple stretched banshees' jumpin the flat spots...

I can say this. If you make it 3/4 of the way up it and dump it. I really hope your quad has insureance because it WILL be totalled. And yes it's steep. I stood at the top and you can't see quads coming up it at certain points in the climb because it's too steep.

id like to know how that hill compares to teh double black diamond, 900 footer we did at the race 2 weeks ago. while i didnt go up the hill posted, i did ride the access trails which were plenty *** sttep (steep as the hillclimb just not as long) id say the one at timber line has it beat. and i did it in the rain:macho :D

Come to PA and I'll gladly take you there. It's a place called Treverton. Not too far from Pottsville where Yuengling beer (America's oldest brewery) is brewed, but I guess drinking beer and hillclimbing don't mix! :eek2: :D

Rico...why don't you call up your woman that works there and ask her.

Yes, it's not far from Shamokin, about 1.5 hr ride or so via trails. I go thru Shamokin and 3 Corners, etc to get there. The coal hills in that area are truly monsterous. There are ones that are almost twice as big as this one that only sand rails and totally tricked shee's with paddles make it up. It's crazy up there. I live near Hunt Valley, MD and it takes me about 2.5 hrs to drive up there. Well worth the trip!

I can get to that hill in 10 minutes on my quad without crossing a road!

There are some more a few 100 yards down towards Treverton that are a bit steeper - The day Jeff, Rowrag and I was there only Cannondales were makin them!

all this talk about the coal hills in pa, does anybody remeber a rider a few years back that had a red 400ex that use to jump down the hills? i wonder if hes still alive, he use to have it pinned in bout 3rd or 4th and jump down any hill he saw
