Clutch is goofey

I just replaced the clutch in my 2001 300ex and it feels really soft now, the pull is so soft that the lever barely pushes back out. I put new springs in and torqued them to 9ft pounds or 108 inch pounds. Any clues?

also my reverse lever is enganged i put it in backwards becuase it only moves the opposite way (it moves away from the rear tires or it moves like you were letting the engagement out) do you think this is causing the problem?

the reverse lever is right now and it still feels way too soft

It could be adjusted wrong, or have so much drag that it doesnt return right, is it a new cable too?
