well i started stripping down my quad to do a complete new rebuild and i noticed that the front left tire has some slack in it and i could move it about an inch an a half back and forth without the other tire moveing do i need a new tie rod end or do i have to replace the whole Knuckle?

Sounds like a case of assed wheel bearings to me...

i had the nut on the tie rod end come loose on mine once. didnt think much about it. tightened it up and went riding the next time. ended up with a lot of slop in the steer. had to replace the tie rod end and the steering stem. if you just put the new end on you'll wear it out quick because most likely the hole it goes through has been worn out of round. thats what i would check.

i put loctite on mine. The highest strength stuff i could find... you know the stuff they use to hold space shuttles together. Now i have to cut off my tie rod end to replace them lol.
