There was a thread on this a while back. People have made many goo dpoint sto why they are "weak". For example if the tie rods were stronger something else would have to give if you crash...right? Like the a-arms...so if the tie rods bend before the a-arms then all you have to do is replace the cheaper part which would be the tie rods....do a search, im sure i didnt cover everything:)

i dont think they are any weaker then the stock tie rods of any other quad. most of the people i know that have tweaked theirs are racers and i dunno what they expect. most came of quads that had aftermarket a arms with chromoly tie rods that are stronger.

my advice..stay outta the tree's:blah:

I bent mine but i also hit a tree stump sticking out of a trail about 3rd gear pined and it stoped my quad and sent my flying, but i bent it back perfect and it works good now.

yah well i slammed into a stalled 400 EX on a MX track 4th pinned....totalled my left rims, and bent my tie rod at like a 90 degree angle

my left rim can no longer be used:blah:

first day riding my 450R i was hitting everything at the local track except this one with a nasty sharp landing so i tried it and my back tires clipped the downside and the quad flipped twice and i ended up with a concusion and a few other things includding some real messed up tie-rods. just put them in a vice and straighten them out or get them heated by a welder.

yah right at the races another rider let me borrow some front burgard beadlocks and we took off my tie rod and straightened it....this all happened the first day of me racing with my 450 too

 How strong are they compared to the 400ex tierods? The 400ex got so super tough OEM tierods IMO.:macho
