Buddy of mine has an HRC kit with a Sparks and he is running a 190 main and a 62 pilet. Runs great. The pilet change got ride of the poping while letting off.

He put the pipe on and never jetted it and now it is breaking up under load even with stock pipe on it

if he is running a stock filter and lid, id start with a 125or 135 main and 2 1/2 out on the airscrew (might be a bit different depending on what sparks say's) and no hrc kit

if he has the hrc kit and no lid then 170 or 180 on the main and see how she does

i have the ballance hmf carbon pipe, lid on and stock jetting. its been running fine. i tried a 135 main and it was way too fat.

today, at the mx track, my quad started braking down under WOT. i cant figure it out tho, it acted like it was just dying, id let off the gas and sometimes she would bark back to life, others she would spiiter sputter. i checked everything and didnt find anything wrong at all.

when i got home, i ran the hell outta it on my track and it didnt miss a beat:confused: the only thing i did at the track was to remove the gas tank and remove the twist throttle and reinstall the thumb. i checked for pinched lines etc but found none:( so who knows:)

Hey pappy have you heard anything on the TC pipe? I was told its the pipe to go with by pretty good source.

i geuss for max power they probably are the ones to beat....however the noise they produce is insane:p and seeing how the ama is now applying the noise sanctions on the mx crowd, id say tc's current design will be used only by local riders because i cant see how they would ever meet the required DB levels

just some info i put on an fmf sil and mid and opend the air box with 3 1in holes. i changed my main to a 170 and moved the clip on th needle all the way up. it runs great!!!!!! Papy yours sounds like mine when it was too lean...... it would just shut off at WOT..... good luck:)

I think your in the area you should be maybe a little high. But try it and see how she runs then start going down. My buddy has the same set up as you and he is running a 180 main.

I have a full Sparks system with Sparks Filter kit and no lid. Sparks told me to use a 190 main and 2 turns OUT on the air/fuel screw....quad runs great. I used the same jetting specs on my cousins 450R last night and it runs strong as well. No back-firing or anything....

Just my 2 cents!

Bump...
i thought i would just add on here instead of making a new thread...

I just got my Sparks exhuast and his supercharger kit for the 450r and was wondering what jetting to run with an open air box lid?? I am about 950-1000 feet above sea level, i also plan on running the HRC needle, if someone could give me pall park figures that i could work with would be great.
thanks
