400ex hp

my friend's said his dad 400ex will do 42 hp .
Here's what he got :

Kn air filter
No air box lid
Dynojet kit
Hotcam stage 2
Supertrapp exhaust

Can it really do 42horsepower ?
I don't think so but he is ...

Nah, no 42 HP there... Take a look at my sig... With all those mods done to my motor I was dynoed at 48HP... A stock 400ex is in the high 20's (like 28 or 29 or something...) with those mods, he is probably running somewhere in the low to mid 30's at best...

Without having a high compression piston, I'd say he'd be lucky to make 32 RWHP. Mine dynoed in at 33.5 RWHP with the mods in my signature.

I have the same motor as tc426 and mine only dynoed at 42.

There is no way it has 42 hp. With what is listed, he would be lucky to have 30 hp.

YEah, somone is feeding u a line of S#!T, WEll with my mods that i have listed, i Beleive that im only making somone around 33-and 35 HP, and i heard that a stock 400ex has right at 28HP, With the carb adjustments, and the breather not being restrickted, i think he might be able to touch 30hp, but nothing over 31 thats for sure.

My fully built 416 made 43 rwhp on a dyno. A stock 400ex was put on the same dyno and it made 27.4 rwhp, just for a baseline. Tell your friend he is lying and your dad can beat his dad up.

Got the dyno sheet for that 48 'er?

All dynos are different, but I'm the same as the other guys my 440 only put out 42.

So it looks like you buddies dad has a 400ex, that breaths alot of dirt, and lost his air box lid, Threw all the jets in the carb, Bought a good cam, And he went from 42hp before the supertrap, to a mearilly stock 29hp after the exhaust MOD!

sorry man i couldnt pass this up!
