PEP steering damper possible problem

i put my damper on a month ago and it's first ride happend to be a district hare scramble. after the race when i went over the quad i noticed that the cylinder that moves in and out of the damper had oil smeared on it. just wondering if this is normal or a seal went bad already.

Are you seeing alot of oil or is it more of a residue? Is the dampner providing any resistance.

i would go with greasy residue, and you can still feel resistance. the adjustment knob seems to work fine too.
