Where can I get a 500cc kit for my 450R? I'm tired of being outrun on the open sections by other 500Rs.

I don't need someone to build it,I just need the parts. From my past experiance Mickey is reluctant to sell parts.

I believe wiseco sells a BB piston, also Duncan has a BB kit.

I talked to Duncan today. They won't have anything ready until about October. And that will probably be a 470cc.

Wiseco has a 470cc 11.5:1 available now.

Just get a rod and crank from the dirtbike engine, and get a 500 bore kit for the bike.

I don't understand why you would say that, I would rather just sell parts.

Sorry Mickey,I called you a few years ago about a 250X and you wanted me to send the motor instead of just selling the parts. I guess I got the wrong impression. Maybe you felt it best to build the motor at the time. What does your 450R kit consist of and what is the cost.:)

Yes, on some motors I prefer to build them here just so nobody has problems with assembly - some are more advanced compared to others. This, however, is a very simple kit. If you can do a top-end job, you can build it. I can't talk about prices on here but right now I am selling a piston kit with head gasket and my mid to top-end cam. I believe you saw how it ran at the Wisp this past weekend. That's exactly what you would be buying. Same goes for the 500ex kit if you need one (since the other post got locked down so quickly).

Mickey,

what kind of durabilty can be expected with a kit like this?

At least two races and the time it takes to do a mag. artical .LOL. No, but really it's not a wild motor. I built it for GNCC racing. With the big cam it runs on pump gas with 12:1.

So if assembled by someone competent, this kit should last joe average quite awhile before needing a rebuild?

Yeah I saw first hand allright, when Mike Benson passed me in the field section on lap 2. I could hang with him in the woods but the open sections were no contest.PM me a price if you could.

THE GUY WHO DOES MY MOTOR WORK SAID dUNCAN IS TESTINg a 505 kit now. it should be ready soon. but i think you will have to send your motor to them for the head work. it's not cheap (2500 or so) but i bet it will haul ***. i'm thinking about putting one in mine this winter, but i don't want to run only open classes at the nationals.

Powroll should have theirs available soon, I talked to Fallicon,a nd their crank is going to be ready really soon. Add that and a 470 piston, your set.
Chef, will that really work? What would happen if you jsut dropped in a rod an crank from the dirt bike, with a 470 piston?
