I've searched all the post on FCR 39mm carbs and can't seem to find my answer......on my 416 11.2:1 hot cam 2, open air box. hmf slip on, @ sea level, i am running a 175 main jet, 52 pilot, needle on 3rd clip, 3 turns out on the fuel screw and it runs better with the stock carb......i am only beating a stock 400ex by about 4 quad lengs....i am also running 50/50 mix.....the plug is light grey. Maybe too lean but it could be the gas......I went up to a 185 and that didn't help either..

My clutch is slipping for about a second when i shift gears hard like in a drag race......could the clutch be why it's not much faster than stock??

i have the same set up but with a sparks full exhaust. i am also running the 4 degree key and i am only at a 165 main, dropped the cilp one notch to fatten up the midrange a little and it runs great. it is hard to get plug color on race fuel but on just 93 i have perfect color. 600 feet above sea level so you should be close to that.

yeah, i've tried the 165 too.....it's hard for me to tell. I need to get the clutch fixed first i guess. thanks for your help.

168 main 2 3/4 turns out on the fuel screw. Clip installed the way it came from colby.

I am close to sea level.

for drag racing, don't expect a huge gain. many people are noticing a huge gain over stock because their stock carbs were more than likely not tuned the best. for drag racing i gained about 1 bike lengh throughout the gears (1-5). i noticed a nice jump in throttle response and low end power but the all out performance isn't as huge as many say.

if you still can get your jetting right, call mark baldwin or allen at CT racing. both are great at helping over the phone. allen helped my cosuin today, his 440 wouldnt idle so he called allen and explained his problem he told him what pilot jet and what main jet to start with and it was right.
