250r shocks on 400ex

if i buy a set of used tripple rate works shocks w/rezzies that are rebound and compression adjustable from a guy with a 250r will they work good on my 400ex?

They will work fine, I believe that they may lower your quad a little bit because the R shocks are slightly shorter than those for the 400, and they may be valved a little soft because the 400 weighs a little more, but other than that, they will work just fine!
