Hey, I am looking into purchasing a 450r shortly. I was just wondering what they changed for the 05' besides a new color scheme. Did they fix any problems? Add better parts? Please let me know! I was going to get a leftover 04' for cheaper money but if the 05 is better, than I will get that. Thanks, -Joel

At this point we really don't know - there were some rumors of some minor chassis tweaks, but nothing but the color change has been officially announced.

I'd get the cheap '04 model - mine's been great so far - enjoying letting the Yamahas chase me & it's only getting faster from here.

What's it going to take for Honda to make real performance improvements each year to the TRX450R like they currently do to the bikes?

Does anyone know how the sales numbers compare between the TRX450R and the CRF450R? Can anyone ask a local dealer how their sales compare if national numbers are not available?

A dealer told me honda is selling twice as manny ATV's than they are dirtbikes. But because of pride, they still focus on dirtbikes....when will the manufacturers get it?????

I dont know the exact number on the 450's but im sure if they are selling twice as many quads, then they 450R is outselling the CRF

I looked on the site too and it looks like there were no changes. All they did was add another choice of color.

im a slaesman at a dealership and quads outsell bikes 2 to 1
reasib why there is not any markup on bikes hardly nothing like anything else so they dont push them like they do quads or this is my experience anyway

also the only changes ive heard of is color, ther have been no new updates that came with the bike and when they change it we USUALLY get the updates when we get the 1st bike and we got a black R yesterday and no updates yet

Brandon,

Do you have any "actual" numbers from your dealership on how many TRX450Rs, TRX400EXs, CRF450Rs, and CRF250Rs have been sold since Jan 1? You may want to include the 2-stroke (250 and 125) bike numbers as well.

Thanks.

No Black is not the only color you can get for '05. My EX plastics don't seem to scratch up that bad, and when they do you can't really notice them unless you are really trying to.
