Can you get a higher pressure radiator cap for a 250R? I just put on a 310 kit, and I'm loosing coolant in the slow technical sections.

Maybe try a new regular cap. Unless they do sell high pressure ones... which I've never heard of.

i don't see why you would need to go up to a higher pressure radiator cap the cap is set to that pressure for a reason and that's so you don't start blowing other more expensive parts, if you motor is running to hot then maybe you should consider goin to a larger radiator

Actually, going to a higher PSI cap is common in the motorcycle circles. It's used by many teams and racers alike. Manufacturers have a LARGE margin of error in anything they build. The step up isn't drastic, typically raises boiling temp by 10-15 degrees.
Sooooo........back to my question......

.....I'm not saying a radiator is out of the question, in fact that may HAVE to be my fix, I'de just like to try the cap first. It's just plain hot around here. We rode early yesterday to beat the heat, and it was still 100 at 9:00, and 108 at noon.

it's good http://www.exriders.com/vbb/images/icons/icon14.gif I was just acknowledging your statement that's all, i was not aware that you could get other radiator caps with just a little more pressure ratings, i know you can use some automotive style caps out there, but i think the pressure ratings would be too high but i do agree with you i would try a higher cap if they are out there and the bikes system it's self can handle it

Even with a higher psi cap, isn't it gonna blow out the overflow res?

Not if it stays in the radiator. The higher pressure cap makes the boiling point higher, thereby keeping the coolant in the radiator longer. Lets say it boils over at 215 now, the cap will hold pressure till about 225. Could be the difference between loosing coolant or just running hot. Honda offers 2 different caps for the CR250, I'm trying to see if one of those will work.
