I have an 03 400EX. I have never adjusted the yet, and it's getting loose. I loosened the 4 allen bolts in the back. Now I don't know what to do. I read that you are supposed to turn something out with a screwdriver. I just don't know what to turn out. Does it go into that one open slot by the sprocket? Thanks for the help.

if this is your first quad or even if it is just your first 400 the best thing you could do is go buy a clymer (or another brand) manual. cost around $25 and it will save you a ton of time and money.

I agree!! Also, make sure you leave SOME slack in the chain... If you tighten it up real tight without some play in it you will roast your chain and sprockets twice as fast. Its normal for the chain to loosen up after a while, they stretch after some time. Get it together and keep rippin it man...
