white smoke ussualy meens that there is a head gasket leak. Try checking that.

...Is the pipe brand new? If so it is more than likely the coating on the pipe. I have heard of many people say there brand new pipe smoked for a while when they first got it.

Put your stock pipe on and see if it still smokes. Process of elimination ;)

man still smoking i put the old pipe on and its smoked as well i dont see how it could just start burning oil so fast in one day the bike runs perfect doesnt cut out bog or anything. any ideas what it could be? im stumped

it could take minutes of lrunning with low oil to smoke a ring. Did you have to put more oil in it? OR it prolly overheated, then piston swelled and scarred or egged your cylinder. It just happened to my 4x4rancher.

Hey tardzilla, the reason why a blown head gasket causes an engine to smoke is because your burning the liq coolant...
Ablown HG on an air cooled engine wont smoke white:blah: :macho

I heard publix is hiring:devil:

Not the most articulate:huh but correct. Bluish smoke is oil, white is water, black is unburnt fuel. If your still smoking, check you plug is there oil on it? If so do a compression check.

It could be just coinsidence that it started smoking right when you added the pipe, or the motor could have been ready to go and the reduced back pressure from the pipe was all it needed. Either way the pipe was not the cause.

i pulled the plug out tonight "4 month old plug" and it is drinched with oil halfway up the threads. i dont have a compression tester or really know of anyone who has one. if the compression is lower then it should be what does that mean?

If your plug has oil on it then you need a top end job.

then u can have fun paying for new rockers, valves, cam shaft, valvue guides, and most likely a new transmission. :)

i know for a fact that just the top end w/o a piston and boring will cost right around 650 dollars.
