some what fastr of the start. ive seen modded 440 like mine beat 450's. depends whos on the seat:scary:

If you mean stock verses stock, then the 450 is alot faster. It weighs 25 pounds less and has about 12-13 more hp. A stock 450r will smoke a stock 400ex.

well i wanted to know cuz i just bought a 04 400ex a week ago and my friend got very jelous cuz he thinks i dont derserve it
so he is getting a 450r cuz he has to have the fastest bike out of every bodie

Mine with just the hrc kit beat my friends stock 400ex by like 9 bike lengths in 4th gear!!

i used to have a stoc engine 400ex & sopld it for the 450r...the 450r is 10x's better at everything

Now that is a good question! ;) I think both my quads it took about 2 weeks before I started modding them. In a Tim Allen voice... "More power"! :D
