I was wondering what the decibel level of the HMF slip on is without the quiet core in and with it in(i ride trails and need to keep it under 96Db), is it something like the sound of when you take out the spark arrestor because that is a little to loud, thanks alot!

I believe the standard HMF slip on is 96db if Im not mistaken... Try asking this in the HMF section...

Hey man, at least he didn't do 01'400ex'er...it's like saying anyone that puts 400ex in their name is copying you. And why did you post in a thread and not even say a thing about what it's really about?

I would think the HMF would be around 100db...I know that it's quieter than my Big Gun slip-on, but that just might need to be repacked. If noise is a problem, get the quiet core insert...that helps somewhat, at least enough to bring it down to 96 I believe.

And to make you happy the quiet core will get you under 96db.
Whatever makes you sleep better tonight:o

The quiet core really knocks the noise down so make sure you purchase it with the pipe. I think my HMF pipe is pretty quiet compared to pipes I"ve had in the past and most pipes I hear at races. I"ve also never ran it without the quiet core so maybe I"ll take it out and see how loud the ole 416 is with it at full bark level....

the bigger the bore the louder the grunt, 450's with hmf's are at about 97 db i believe, im not sure if thats with a quiet core or not, does the quiet core take away alot of power?
