I doubt it will work unless your light. There is so much more leverage on the shock that they need a heavier valving. It may work with the compression all the way up. Youll just hafta try.

I'm 190lbs... kinda on the heavy side, but so far I have not bottomed out the stock shocks and they have not been adjusted. Onthe 400ex I would bottom them out every time I jumped where I was landin on a flat surface, but no with the 450r With +2'' will it lower the fron end of my quad ????

i have burgard a arms and i got them from JH racing, Give Johnny a call he hooked me up. i paid 475 for them. If that is the riding you do you will be fine just turn up the compression of the shocks.

I was wondering the same thing myself. Don't have the $$$ to do it all at once, so I was wondering if I could get away with +2 arms for a while with the stock shocks and get some Elkas later. I only tip the scales at 140, so I thought it might work, at least for the rest of the summer. I'm working to get into motorcross racing and would love to be 4 inches wider for the turns, but I don't hit all the jumps just yet. (Working my way up to them) Would a revalve help?....or just save the money for the Elkas? Also, at my weight, I have some trouble keeping the front down. Would a +1 or +2 swingarm cure this or would +2 be overkill?

Thanks, 450R Guy '78

if you guys think it works well you have to be out of your mind. Just do yourself a favor and save up and buy the front end together. It's kinda like buying a new pair of shoes normally you wear a size 10 but you buy a size 12 for new socks you will get in the future :P In all seriousness, using stock shocks with +2 a-arms is not a good idea unless the shocks have been redone to handle them.
