i tried a search and nothing helpful came up so here it goes. i went out the other day to ride my 300ex and it would not start all i could here was this little round thing next to the battery , i'm not sure what it is call, but anyway what could be wrong. the battery is not dead cause i charged it and it did the same thing, i went to jump and it did the same thing

More that likley your battery is bad.
Put a voltmeter on the battery terminals. A good battery will have from 13.2 to 13.8 volts DC.
Now try to start your bike and watch the meter, anything below 9.5 volts will not have enough voltage to fire the CDI.
It might crank for a second or 2 but not fire.

your battery is dead....this has been brought up many times before,and i had the problem i thought it was the star relay(the thing where the buzzing is coming from...and you think your battery is charged....charge it for 3-5 hrs and it should be good,and if that doesn't work,you might need a new battery or a relay
