Most people today ride without the airbox lid.... what's the difference if you rode with it on?

I personally ride w/o it, I'm just wondering why do most people have the lid off.

I figured I'd get this...... I was wondering what's the difference if you ride with it on or off. Not who rides with it on or off -- sorry for the confusion.

More air to the motor without the lid, or you can go one step farther, and get rid the airbox all together like I did.

Racing and riding.... ehh mostly dusty conditions

So with more air allowed into the engine.. does that give you speed/ acceleration? anything

Ok man, here it goes... You ride with the airbox lid off you are increasing the airflow to the carb and engine... As a result, you re jet your carb to compensate for the added airflow meaning more gas is added. The basic formula is more air + more fuel = more power!! Add on a full exhaust and the motor can fully breathe and create power at its potential...

I also ride with the lid off, except in the winter.. just rember to also pull your drain plug. So if water does get in it just drains out.

get the EHS Racing lid with Outerwear and don't worry bout it,,,flows as good as no lid at all and the outerwear is waterproof and filters dust and junk out,,,www.ehsracing.com
