Good answer andrew... obviously he does, or he wouldn't have asked the question. Now STFU.

An LT with stock engine, and stock 12-42 sprockets will do 70-72mph. Mine with 13-40 gearing, and some engine work... a lil more. ;)

Well I have 1986 quadracer 250. I have had the newer years which have a better motor but unless you have some major mods you will not beat the 450's. Who was the better rider?

Ok, I admit... I was the better rider! :D

Oh... and about 2k in to my engine... ;)

Yep, it beat a 450R... so money well spent, wouldn't you say? :blah:

An LT doesn't need "major" mods to beat a stock 450r in a drag. Pipe and cam the 450r and now your going to have to do a little more work.

A stock 450 will destroy every stock 250 two stroke. I have had many 250r's, tecate-4, and quadracers and stock it is not even close once you starting do mods that's when it's a different story!
Don't get me wrong the 250's have alot of potential but they are kind of slow stock and the 450 isn't a rocket either but it is quicker. Like you said put a pipe and a cam in the 450's and they are a totally different bike. I am talking about drag racing too!

I agree with what your saying 100% but I think you missed what I was getting at. To me "Major" mods would be porting, shaved head, and stroking. I was saying that a piped and properly jetted LT would have a good chance agaist a stock 450r. That's just my experience, I'm sure 100 different people have had a 100 differnt experiences, ya know how that goes.

I agree with you. The 450's are quick stock but what really brings them to life is a pipe and cam.
