rings or not

well the vent tube on my 300ex has been spitting oil. I was told the rings may have been cracked. so i pull the motor apart and the rings look good :confused: can you look at a ring and tell if its good?and help would be appreciated

rings might be good but the cylinder might not. how does the cylinder look? and where is this tube coming from? is it from the crankcase?

the cyclinder feels great...as smooth as glass....the vent tube is coming out of the top of the motor.
