Computer overrun

My older brother stopped over today and used my computer and went to a bunch of porn sites like he always does. This time I guess when he was searching through porn some viruses and adware got downloaded onto my computer, now they are completely taking it over. I can barely get on the internet now, it always brings me to this search page then a pop up comes up and after I close the pop up, it closes out of the internet. I've run AdAware and it can't get rid of it, I've changed my start up settings to not run these but it's just not getting rid of them. I'm getting sick of my brother always ruining my things, he's 21 and can't seem to take care of himself.

I need some help on how I can get rid of this stuff, it's making my computer run horribly slow and it's just killing me. My computer used to be very fast and now it's running like it has a processor from 1990 in it.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME!! AdAware isn't doing it's job and I NEED to get rid of this stuff, I'm going to be royally pissed if I have to wipe out my hardrive considering I have about 40 gigs of quad pics and videos on it...that's something I do NOT want to do again.

Somebody please help this desperate teenager in saving his beloved computer.:(

check for updates and run a scan(Do not fix anything!!) then go to the forums of tomcoyote.com and go under the hijack this section and post your logs from that program. someone will help you out from that point totaly free. If after a while no one respons go into the chatroom (link at the top of the forum) and post a link to your logs and someone will help u right away.

It is important not to delete anythign using that program because it doesnt know good from bad.

the virus/hijacker you have is probably cool websearch.

i have done this to 4 computers now and one of the best tips to avoid getting all of this garbage is DO NOt use Kazaa. kazaa is full of spyware and will put all this crap on ur comp. oh yeah and the porn will also do it.

No I'm not the one who looks up the porn. I still mess around with my ex-gf so there is no need for porn:p .
My brother is a huge loser and for some reason likes to download porn to my computer, even though he's 21 and has a gf...

Anyway, I think I'm just going to take the DSL off this computer and put it on my other one (faster and bigger hardrive anyway). Guess it's bye-bye to this computer.

Just ask speedy400...he knows that I still mess around with my ex-gf, he had to listen to that the other day, lol poor kid:p .

And get google pop up blocker

do a search for and download spybot search and destroy it helped my comp out a ton also do a search and download the google toolbar complete with popup blocker.

Someone told me the other day that spybot search and destroy now has real time scanning. If you download it, make sure you do the updates after you download the program, then do the scan for adware.
Spysweeper another real good one. Its a real time scanner and it will find tons of adware and block it. You get one free update for first time users.

Ad-aware 6.0 and AVG anti virus is all your computer needs, all free and will keep ur computer safe, and also those 2 programs take up hardly any ram at all while scanning, not like the memory hog *nortons*.

Try those 2 combos and a promise you that you will no longer have any troubles on ur computer..

I have the same problem on my laptop. Its going to come down to reinstalling windows, I'm afraid. Pop-up blockers DO NOT work with this type of adware and spyware. I get upwards to 50 pop-up ads at one time, then explorer just shuts down.

I tried Sypware and Ad-aware, both found the problems, but didn't remove them. I also tried removing the files under the utilities menu, but they re-appear after a restart.

It's no use guy, my computer is completely overrun. I can't even run Norton anti-virus. It closes that down and then after a short while my computer won't respond to anything. It sucks, it'll work just fine for about 10 minutes...then go the hell.

Oh well, I got my DSL installed on my other computer which is twice as fast, so it's all good...just sucks that I have to lose all those quad pics and videos. Also a lot of the pics of my four wheelers are from a digital camera, so they are only on my computer...it's going to suck to lose all those.

Yes porn rules, but I haven't found the need for it lately:p

Sounds sorta like my situation.
My computer is so infested w/ spyware right now. I can't go 1 hr w/out having to restart. Can't go 5 mins w/out getting a pop up from some look2me.com or something like that. I don't pay attention any more. Explorer constantly is "Not Responding" then Webtrap isn't, then when I hit end task, my computer freezese. LUCKILY its gettin reformatted this weekend..woo!:blah:

Yea I wish mine could easily be dealt with like that, but it's gone over the edge. I was pretty close to shoving my fist through the screen and kicking the computer tower across the room:mad: . Damn people who start viruses and came up with pop ups....I stopped watching TV and listening to radio to escape from advertisements, then they invaded my computer! This has turned into a war!!

Go to kazza or shareaze and DL Roxio Go Back and the crack...the crack can also be found on any of a million crack websites...

This program will restore your computer to any number of previous settings without having to reformat your drives.

It's to late now, but you will most likely not have to do it again...
