i'm pullin the motor out of my 300. I went to loosen the motor mount bolts and I couldnt turn them. So i got a bigger ratchet and stripped one of the nuts. Any ideas to make this easier?

penetrating oil/wd-40 type substance(castle thrust or pb blaster are good ones) and also using the right size socket and making sure its straight on the bolt.:o :p

heat it up a lil bit with a lighter or torch and tap it a couple of times with a hammer, and spray WD-40 and let it penetrate, and then do the lighter and hammer thing again....and it should work

well if you messed it up to the point where it wont fit a wrench, heat it with a propane torch a little. Get a SHARP...key work sharp punch and a hammer and tap it at a angle and it should loosen it up.

its hard, take your time...for a lil more clearance take the valve covers off,i think i did it like this,i tilted the engine forward then inched it out ,took 10 mins to get out, putting it back in is a pain in the ***

try loosening the bolt. there might be enough tension on everything for the nut to hold just enough to where you can get the bolt loose and then the nut will come off just by your hands or vice grips :D

well it was spitting oil out of the vent tube. i was told the rings are probabaly bad. But the rings look good....can you look at a ring and tell its good, or can it be bad and not be able to tell. I know its been bored but i dont know how much it has been. Do the numbers on the top of the piston mean anything?

you cant look at the rings and tell if there bad.

might as well buy a 330 or 350 kit since you dont know how big the cyl. is. www.gthunder.com

i looked at the numbers on the piston and matched it up with the numbers on wiseco page...its the biggest piston wiseco offers for the 300ex..the number is 4574m07600...what size bore is that? how much difference does it make?
