yea and your quads a just 250r's and 400ex's. big deal if it was a recon. maybe thats all some people can afford or are allowed to have. nothing is pointless. my recon could outhandle and outrun 300ex's and warriors.

not 18's on the rear but is this what you wanted mxjunkie? and another thing, racing isnt just mx, theres a thing called xc racing and there is a utility class. so you guys that make fun of ppl that mod recons and chit, ur just insecure and have too much money for your own good or your just plain spoiled.:o :p

hmm i was just gonna let this go, but i'm not one to sit around and watch someone talkin chit. so here goes, i've worked hard for what i've got, can you say 20-30 hours a week durin school while still maintainin a A- avg :confused: i didnt say recons are chit and everyone that has one should sell them for a 450r. they're great quads! i'd know, cause i use to own one. however i was smart enough to know that when it came time that i could out ride the reekin, instead of modding it i moved up to a 300ex, and then to a 400ex. the money that these aftermarket parts cost is insane, to get a recon to keep up with an ex will cost you as much as the ex itselft. i'm not narrow minded, heck far from it, but sometimes you gotta grow up and move up.

also you say someone might not have the money for a new quad, but if they saved up and didnt spend the money on the mods for the recon then they'd be a heck of a lot closer to something new

btw the only thing i bought for the recon was gas, oil + filters, and rear tires when the stockers wore out. it sure ran good for the beating i gave it ;)

I have to agree with Muff, modding out a recon is just pointless. Maybe putting a pipe on it and mud tires...but that's it. I don't think anyone should even attempt to mod it out for MX...that's just...:huh

^^^well if they couldnt keep up with me and they seemed to be two-wheelin more and not jumpin as far it must mean something. and muff you say you just upgraded to a new quad, at the time i had the recon my parents wouldnt let me upgrade even with it being my own money and i cant stand stock so i had to do something with it. only reason they let me get the 400ex is cuz it started having major problems.....half of which were defects.:huh i wasent singling you out im just tired of ppl sayin that its pointless cuz its really not. ive had ppl on raptors and the such compliment my quad and think it was awesome. so id say it was worth it.

yea, i got about $600 in mine for aftermarket, $3200OTD in 02, busted my *** for a year to get that thing, my dad wouldent let me get a 300, so if i couldent have that i just got a uti. yea mines been trashed, bashed, rolled, stood up, flip'd back, ran wfo all the time, but she still hauls around the woods in 5th no prob:cool: shes landed 30footers and did nothing but the 5th or 6th time i hit it it blew 2 shocks out, handa warrintied for me:huh :blah: its missing bolts here and there, jetting is just a lil off, but IMO its payed for itself.:)

Now I like the way the modded recons look, but I think its pointless. I can see why some people would do that, but it's just somthing I wouldn't do.
