How do you brush aluminum?

This may seem like a stupid question but i am planning on making my owner bumper and grab bar and i was just wondering how you geet the brushed aluminum look like the AC bumpers? Do you just take a metal bristle brush and brsuh it? Thanks.

For a brushed look take a real fine steel wool over it!
