This past weekend, my dad and I took out our bikes, I took out my spark arrester and cut the airbox lid. And he put on an FCR. We were out jetting our bikes, i got mine perfect, at the end of the day his was still a little off. When we dragged by the time we were in 5th gear, i was about 8-10 bike lengths ahead of him. So if he got his jetting right, got a better cam, went a little more crazy with the porting, i think he would have been real close. And thats a 416! Its built by profab, and scott at profab told me a lot of the 440 kits were hype. But if its a 440 done professionally, they run pretty good.

Here are some vids of well built 440ex's against YFZ450's.

This class came down to two highly modded, 440ex's. There were stock 450r's, YFZ's, and even a 300ex running on meth.

cause he's talking about how a built 416 can keep up with the new 450's with a good rider and a good engine builder.

I guess I could have put it in the open forum, but I thought that forum was for posting games, and telling people that you are going to stop riding? lol

My 416 is far from being badazz but runs strong and was built more for reliablity than big HP numbers. The only time the new 450's get an upperhand on me is on holeshots. Besides that I haven't been on a long enough straight away for one too actually walk away from me..:macho

Exactly, and why would you go buy a brand new $6000+ bike if what you have is fast enough. Especially you rico, with the LT rear end and all.

You are probably thinking, that's what I did because there is a 416 in my sig. The 416 is my dads, I came off of a 330ex. So the change was well worth it to me. I still miss the 330 though:( .

I love that 330, we had a lot of money into the motor.

i was at a practice last sunday and they had mock 1 lap motos... start out of the gate and everything...

me and 2 stock 450s lined up right next to each other... all 3 of us hit the 1st turn at the same time... i was in 4th gear by the end of the start...

i was running 18 inch tires with stock gearing and i think they had 13t front with 20 inch rears... it was a good race and if u know how to drag u can keep up fairly good...

I have been wanting for awhile to get my chance to run a Yamaha or Honda 450 in more than just a drag race. Well I got my chance for the first time in Virginia at the GNCC race and again this weekend at the wisp. I know several of the yamaha and Honda riders had this look :eek2: in their eyes when my 400ex motored by them. I really liked pulling them up the uphill sections at the wisp. I'm not saying that I blew their fenders off but i did pull out and pass with little problem in high speed areas. My motor is also a 465!!
