is it just me or is the 450r geard way to high to be climbing any hills in the woods. I had it stall on me several times right at the top of a hill.

Get a 13 tooth front sprocket or feather your clutch more.;)

Yeah it is geared high. I got a 13t with 18" tires and i still think it's geared a little too high for the tight stuff as far as woods riding goes.

Does anyone have 22 inch tires on the back with 23's on the front. I was just wondering if its good with the 13 tooth because Im gonna put that tire size on for when I ride around my house it gets very rocky. I figure the 14 tooth is gonna make the bike stall easier cause the tire change.

Once you get used to the bike 1st gear is great.

I used to hate the first gear also but when I got used to it I loved it I have had not trouble climbing hills. and ad far as the 22 and 23's with a 13 tooth front sprocket it feels like stock agian I have that and can't tell much of a diff.

yes, the first gear is a little high, but once you get used to it, it is great. i did change to the 13t of the front, because i wanted the better low end take off. and i also have 18's on back and 19's on fornt for mx racing. so to say the least it does take off great! trail riding a 13t with 20's on back would good and also you have to think that if you have a full exhaust or slip-on and it is jetted and etc.. it is going to pull harder no matter what the gearing is. it just depends on how hard you want it to pull.

when i put my exhaust on it fixed the gearing problem

it does fill like you may need to change the spockets but it is the engine that makes it feel that way it is like a 2stroke it likes to rev high,

Any of you guys running a 13 do any drags? Would you say you run faster in 300 ft or do the quads you are racing pull past you farther down the track

at haspin acres there is a dirt flat drag track that is supposedly 300 ft, I have 20inch rears and 14/39 gearing with the mods i have in my signature and i'm into 5th gear by the end of the track. So for my mods I dont think a 13 would be good because i'd probably hit the rev limiter in 5th, but I guess I won't know unless I try but I'm very happy with my gearing right now.
