i was thinking about putting my 300ex motor into a 250r frame because i like the reverse and the motor in general. i also wanted to bore the 300 up some and then put it in the 250r or even maybe a 400ex frame. another thing what should i do with the 300ex frame?? what kinda motor could i put in that?? maybe something with electric start??

yeah i think some people on here have it done. i just don't know what to do with the 300ex frame. i guess i could part everything off of it and then sell it, but i would like to do something with it.

that conversion is done alot..

as for the 300ex frame...I've seen a yz425 motor in one:eek2: wouldn't reccomend the power in such a small frame though. Put an 85cc dirtbike motor in there..thats done alot, there pretty neat!

good idea with the 85cc. but i might upgrade that to a 125 unless thats to hard because of the exhaust.

Your not going to be able to put a big engine in the 300ex...the frame is small and probably couldn't support all the power.

ive seen alot of 350x atc motors in the 250x/300ex frame.

its a good conversion if you want a good handling quad for an air cooled class. or you have a bigger unexperienced rider. but you will have to remember that the r is a bigger bike and will weigh more so you will need more power. you will also need more power to get the full use out of the conversion. as for you 300ex stuff i would just part it out. or sell the whole bike and buy a 300 motor and go from there

not the accual chassis. all the weight is in the motor if you weigh just the chassis's without any hardware for a motor it is heavier:rolleyes:

yeah i have been there before. i might be getting a 400ex now from a friend for pretty cheap because he is buying one that someone put the oil filter in backwards so he is going to sell his and build up the other one. so i might sell mine and get the 400 for cheap and since i will have leftover money put it in the 400. but i am not for certain so i am still considering different conversions. thanks.
