View Full Version : how do you put the right side grip on

ive got renthal soft compound grips. i got the left side on no problem and when i put the right side the wont stick to the grip. im using renthal grip glue to. i put a couple of hose clamps on there and left it overnight and i didnt help any. is there a secret to putting this side of the grip on:macho

Are you sure you didnt get grips made for a twist throttle?

i got the renthal atv grips. they are the same size

user101, are you sure they are for the thumb throttle and not the twist. I got Renthal grips for my twist throttle and they said ATV grips on them too but they fit the twist throttle because the grip for the twist will just slip onto the the bar without any effort.

nevermind i got it to work. i wrapped electric tape around my bar to get the grip to fit snugger. it aint gonna move at all now

Dont just do half a job man, tape isnt going to be a permanant fix. If you have grips for a twist throttle you need to get the others. Youll be rounding a corner, shift you weight and that baby will slide right off. Ive had that happen before, but because Scott grip glue isnt worth a crap.

I agree with fearthisracer it is better to be safe than sorry and I also had a grip come off and I was lucky not to get injured

Right on fearthisracer !..Scott grip glue is *****, like I posted in another forum. I had to use Epoxy to get one of my Scott grips to stay, it aint going nowhere now:D

LOL, Last time I used 3M emblem and trim adhesive to put on the grip that slid off. Now Im not sure it will even come off :D
