i Have a 300ex and i was wondering if it would be more cost worthy to put a 350x engine it and do the 400ex front in conversion or should i just go buy a 400ex. And if the 350x ngine would be better how wuld i go about doing it

Go with the 400EX. The only advantage the 350X engine has is 6th gear, but it has a smaller displacement, and more restictive intake.

And the suspension is MUCH better on the 400EX, even if you put the 400EX front end on the 300EX.

Now, if you like projects, that might be something different, because projects are fun. But if you're just looking for performance and potential for upgrades, the 400EX is much better in the long run.

400ex front end has many downfalls, just ask Jeff at the quadshop. The 350X motor is about the same powerwise as a 400ex and has a lot of potential, but finding a good one is getting harder and harder these days. The 350X ended production in 1986. Just like wilkins said, go with a 400ex. For the $1200 it'll cost you to do the engine, and upgrade the suspension it's money well spent to jump up to a 400ex.

i would do the 350x motor and instead of putting on a 400ex front end (which i did) i would just get wider a-arms for the 300 and some works shocks. thats just my opinion.
