Slight bog off the bottom?

We just put a HMF slip on pipe and a moose jet kit in my friends YFZ and it has a slight bog right off the bottom. I was told that this is normal for the yfz. We tried adjusting the fuel mixture screw and needle but cant get rid of it. He is running a 48 pilot a DN 144 main but I am not sure what size that is in Kheihin.Any suggestions?

Hey seven, check HMF's site for jetting info. It is really helpful, you can even call them for more help. guys know their stuff.

I would try a 45 pilot in it.If you are trying to jet it in the garage that wont work,you need to ride it.They say that the slight hesitation off the bottom will never go away but I think a 45 will help you.

I mite give the 45 pilot a shot. The HMF web site says to use a 48 but who knows.

hey guys I got a 48p and a 175 main, It runs good but something to try is to cut 1 good size hole in each side of ur air box!! I have a HMF slip on as well and it now runs like a champ!!

He has no air box lid on it. Its not a major bog just here and there right off the bottom. We tried 3 turns out to 1.5 and it is still there. So I think we will try the 45 pilot.

yea i still have the bog at low end but i dont have it there long...lol, not much you can do there but though I could help a little

I just recently bought a '04 YFZ 450 L.E. and I love it. I too have noticed a dead spot when you stab the throttle right off of idle. I just thought it was a air/ feul screw adjustment. I noticed in Rocky Mountain ATV that they have a "Power Now Valve" made by DSP that is for 4-strokes. It slips into the back of the carb and I guess it's suppose to, "Improve snap right from idle and pull up to mid throttle. Reduces stalling and clutch use when negotiating tight trails". Sounds like the answere to all of lifes problems huh? I'm kind of sceptical though, does anyone have this product, and more importantly, does it work as advertised?

I'm interested in a good woods type pipe any suggestions? I'm leaning towards HMF.

The only down side so far is that the hmf is really loud. Probably the loudest pipe I have heard yet. They have a quiet core insert that I may be looking into.

the DR.D pipe is not loud and it is one awesome pipe.
