A friend of mine just bought a pred a couple weeks ago and after hearing all the bad talkin about it I thought it would be slow.Well let me tell you they are fast.
Yes I beat it but it was stock and I am not.I think if he had the same mods it would be a he** of a race.He is getting a pipe soon and rejetting it.Anyway,I just wanted to let you guys know because I believe in being honest and fair.

yes the predators are fast! my brother has one and he beats me in drags all the time. his has a yoshi full exhuast, jetted, k&n filter, dial-a-jet, and he has changed the gearing for more low end, and got a vortex ignition and now revs out above my 450. but also my 450R is stock. we raced when i had the 14t on front and he got me pretty good. then we raced with my 13t on and it was closer but he still got me. on the track is different. he is fast but the weight holds the predator back some. but he still gets inot and out of turns fast. also he has the fox shocks rezzys on the front.

Here is a race between a HRC 450R and a piped preditor. Both ATV's are slammed, beside that they are stock.

my firend got his predator around the same time i got my 450r,we raced around 200 yards and i pulled him around 150 yards, but the predator has more on the top then the 450 stock vs. stock, but because of the quicker rev on the 450 the predator will be playing catch up.

I ran into a Predator at the Steel City District Five Spring series race a few weeks ago. This guy gives me this story how he is new to MX and mainly has GNCC experience. Let me tell you he smoked all of us in B class! He definitely had some prior MX experience. His Predator was not too decked out, it looked close to stock except a pipe and nerfs. He beat me on my 450R, (I took second overall on the day,) and two YFZ's. There were some other quads too--Banshees and LT250's. That Predator was FAST! I have the HRC kit with a Duncan full exhaust, other than that I have nerfs and bumpers everything else stock.

i raced one a while ago that had the WB pipe and i'm not sure about anything else though. i have HMF BB pipe no lid and 13/39 gearing.

he took a jump cause he rides better but i caught up a little then it was dead on but i also ripped loose in 1st and 2nd so i think i could have pulled out in front. maybe next time.

you all gotta remember they have a 50cc advantage and that is a lot.

everyone please remember that those are polaris which means they wont be running long i raced one on my track with my 400 a while ago it was a rath racing edition and i wasnt too impressed considering the extra cc's

my bud has one and its fast im stock + 110 he has e-series, jet, kit, k&n. In a drag it even until 3rd gear then he pulls 1-2 bikes, but when we race on a track big or small its a joke its like jumping a tank

Matt, Why do you say they wont last long? I owned two Scarmblers and never had any issues. My friends own 5 Scramblers and have had no issues. Two of them are built to the nuts and can give the new 450s more than they can handle. Polaris makes great products that last, your comment was pretty uninformed at the least.

I heard the pred's had problems.

They did last year, the trannies wouldnt shift very good when under a load. Their other big flaw is that they use to many different styles of fasteners. I havent heard many complaints that are the manufacturers problems, more owner/rider negligence than anything.

I had a friend that kept overheating and blowing out the coolant hose, and I watched him snap his front shock in half. They were even sent out to TCS for valving.

Yes predators are fast. my friends i race agaisnt have a predator and a yfz. the predator has the fox shocks with rezzies like the old ones and pipe and it felt the most like my 450r they are pretty wide too. i think if they weighed less and were 450's they would be in the pro races.he won most of the b class races on his predator.i might be getting a yfz next tho. so its all up to you guys.

preds are really fast on asphalt, anywhere else, they just dont seem to ever catch traction because polaris thought they should use a 10 inch rear wheel and 20 inch tire. once you put a 9 inh wheel with a 20 inch tire, they hook up great and are quite a bit faster
