The TC XC cam is by far the best investment I made for my EX.You don't need hardened rockers for it.I believe it is a 926 GNCC grind but I'm not positive. The TC cam outlasted 2 400's and still was in great shape no pits/chatter marks etc...And thats in 2 different valve trains and 2 1/2 years of XC racing.

TC strong like King Kong:muscle:

No questions asked get the TC man. Get the 924 mx grind if you race MX or want alot more mid-top and faster acceleration. Get the 926 GNCC cam if you do more trails and need more bottom-mid. Both cams pull hard all the way through the rpm range and increase accelleration big time, so the choice is yours. I have the 924 and LOVE it. Those cams have good reps around the competition world and you dont need hardened rockers or any of that. I have heard of people racing MX with the 926 grind as well so its really your preference. I would call Tom Carlson at TC and he can reccomend something for you if you tell him what kind of power youre looking for and type of riding you do. I put his number below....

Either of the 2, TC or WC have very good cams. My opinion, I have the WC 450/451 grind cam and I'm very pleased with it. I was unaware that with TC you didn't need hardened rockers but I know with WC you do. I personally wouldn't screw around with a motor unless you do it right. Getting hardening rockers can't hurt so I would recommend on getting them anyways. I asked Tom the difference between the 450/451 and his compariable to it and he said he wasn't sure?? Thats telling me that there's really no HUGE difference between the 2. I've found that alot of these engine builders, ex. CT Racing, use web cams!!

For woods or trail riding I would not lighten the fly wheel.Lightening the fly wheel will take away from the "lugging"power that the 400 is famous for.As far as TC using the Webb cam I'm sure he probably does,as a base.TC's cams are custom grinds meaning he builds up the base cam and then regrinds it to his specks.Do not put hard faced rockers on a drop in cam, they will eat into the finish of the cam and wear it out prematurley.

I agree with Bill. I shouldnt have even put the titanium valve springs in but I did anyway. I definitely wouldnt hardface my rockers though on one of those....

i paid $205 shipped plus i gave him the core. if i didn't have a core, it would have been an extra $150.
