ECP did mine here in Balt (Essex) 410-687-6543. Basically it's a guy that used to be a machinist at Cycle World and Dirt First and then bought a shop, lost the shop (lack of funds) but still has all the machining equipment and does it right at his house. He's been doing this stuff for years. He is good, honest and cheap. I know that you live in Balt so this may be an option for you. He built a great motor for me. No complaints at all. Call him (Greg) and tell him that Fred sent ya!

well I already got someone to do my work, Im going to try to see the connection between people that did their own work and people that have problems, since theres so much you have to do to prep parts.......

when reinstalling all the parts, assembly lube should be used. Oil is okay, but the lube is much thicker and will stay on the part longer. That is one of the reason they tell you to change your oil so quickly is to adventually get the lube out.

A local guy bored my motor, forgot the name of the shop. I did my own assembly and porting. I have yet to have a problem and my motor runs pretty strong.

you don't use assembly lube on the cylinder if you want a good seat only place on the piston that you put assembly lube is the wrist pin no where else and the main reason that you change your oil immediatly is to rid of the metal shavings that are dispersed from parts being broke in mainly the rings since they are practically filed to the shape of the cylinder putting assembly lube on your cylinder and piston when you are installing it is practically like trying to break your motor in on synthetic

Regular motor oil on the wrist pin unless the motor will not be started for a VERY long time. Some assembly lubes are very viscous (thick/heavy), and the friction on the piston pin can cause considerable side loading on the piston.

i was also told exactly like ugly... never put assembly lube on the piston anywhere except the wrist pin bc as he said its like breakin the motor in on synthetics it just won't happen...

my motor builder told me they put assembly lube on all the valves and everything bc for a second or 2 when u start the motor it takes that long for oil to get to certain places and if not u'd start it with no oil...
